NPS’s Calumet Visitor Center Begins Spring Hours

(Calumet, MI) The National Park Service's Calumet Visitor Center has new days and hours of operation for the spring. The Visitor Center will be open from April 12 –May 17, 2015, Thursday through Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Beginning May 18, the Visitor Center will be open seven days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The NPS's Calumet Visitor Center provides orientation to Keweenaw National Historical Park and its partner Keweenaw Heritage Sites, and offers a sales area for interpretive materials operated by the Isle Royale &Keweenaw Parks Association. The primary focus of the facility is the exhibit, Risk and Resilience: Life in a Copper Mining Community. Everyone is encouraged to visit the free facility and enjoy the artifact-rich exhibits, self-guided building tours, and rotating temporary exhibits. Take some time to Find Your Park at Keweenaw NHP, and learn why it is the park at your doorstep!
