We are pleased to announce that John Muir National Historic Site will be returning to a 7 day a week schedule starting August 31, 2014. The operational hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm. Admission to the site is free. Visitors to the site can learn about the life of John Muir through exhibits, guided tours, cell-phone tours and special events. Created in 1964, John Muir NHS preserves the home, landscapes, and gravesite of conservationist and national park advocate John Muir. Mt. Wanda preserves 326 acres of grasslands and oak woodlands that were part of the original Muir/Strentzel ranch in the Alhambra Valley more than a century ago. John Muir NHS, located at 4202 Alhambra Avenue, Martinez, CA 94553. 5 PM. Admission to the site is free of charge.
