Eating & Sleeping

The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site has no park run lodging accommodations within the park. The Plains Historic Inn and Antiques Mall is privately owned and operated in Plains. There are a wide range of accommodations located in the surrounding area.
The town of Plains has two restaurants that offer a place to enjoy a meal. The Silo and The Buffalo Cafe` at the Old Bank, offer a variety of food choices. There are also several chain restaurants in the town of Americus. Please visit the local Chamber of Commerce for more information.
In addition to the local restaurants, there are picnic tables located at the Visitor Center, the Boyhood Farm, the City Park and also at the Georgia Welcome Center, located just outside of Plains. There are no drink or snack machines in the park facilities; however, there are places in town to get refreshments.

The main phone system for Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. The visitor information desk is manned from 9 am until 5 pm daily except for New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
