Carter Gardens Now Open at Jimmy Carter National Historical Park

PLAINS, Ga. – Jimmy Carter National Historical Park is excited to announce the opening of Carter Gardens section of the Carter Home and Gardens for public access. The Carter Home remains closed to the public.

Those wishing to visit the final resting place of the Carters may do so from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. ET seven days a week (closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years). Limited parking is available along Woodland Drive for passenger vehicles only (no parking is permitted for oversized vehicles, RVs, or buses). One-way traffic will be in effect on the property with entrance from U.S. 280 (Church Street). Please note, there are no public restroom facilities currently available. Restrooms and additional/oversized parking are located at
Plains High School (0.7 mile) or Downtown Plains (0.4 mile).

Pets on leashes are permitted on walkways and the south lawn (adjacent to U.S. 280).
