About the Artist

Ned Gannon was an Isle Royale Artist-in-Residence from July 26th to August 10th, 2011. He roves the nearby North Woods as a reclusive specter who can tentatively interact with the corporeal world only because of the love of his family, the magical consolations of creating art, and the possibility of sighting wolves and other wild animals. He may be spotted at various haunts around the Chippewa Valley, including bike trails, coffee shops and anywhere art appears. Follow along on Ned's adventures and learn how he creates his artwork on his blog.

He also teaches in the Department of Art & Design at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. His work is in national and international collections, including the Staten Island Museum, and his illustration work has received recognition from the Society of Illustrators in NY and the Society of Illustrators in LA. See more of Ned's work on his webpage. He is also on Instagram/nedgannon.
