INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK, Ind.: Superintendent Jason Taylor will host several public programs each year, in a “Superintendent’s Spotlight” series, intended to engage local communities and other interested parties with a behind-the-scenes look at park stewardship, important happenings, and other operations at Indiana Dunes National Park. Each one-hour program will include a presentation by Dr. Taylor and other experts along with a question-and-answer period.
Mount Baldy is the first spotlight, on Monday, December 16, from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center located at 1215 N. State Road 49 in Porter, Indiana. During this spotlight, we’ll have a presentation on the history and status of Mount Baldy, discuss current challenges, a range of potential solutions, and the park’s intended path forward, and host a panel Q&A session. If you can’t attend in person, we have a virtual option available via Teams.
Additional public programs will be announced later in 2025 and may take place at other locations in the park. Superintendent Taylor said, “I look forward to engaging local community members and others interested in the Indiana Dunes on the park and its operations, to share, to learn, and to answer questions about our stewardship of this special place.”
Registration is required only for the virtual option to receive the link. The program is free. For more information on this and other programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395-1882, visit our website, download the official National Park Service app, or view our Facebook page.
