Stargazing at Indiana Dunes National Park 2023

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Join the Michiana Astronomical Society as they share their telescopes and introduce visitors to the night sky on Saturday, November 18, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Central Time at Indiana Dunes National Park’s Kemil Beach parking lot. Kemil Beach is one of the darkest locations in the region and is ideal for stargazing. Dress for the weather. 

While telescopes will be available, feel free to bring binoculars or your own telescope from home. Learn about the celestial objects of the season and the benefits of natural night darkness and dark-sky friendly lighting.  

The Kemil Beach parking lot is located on East State Park Road (300E), one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 and three miles east of State Road 49. Indiana Dunes National Park has an entrance fee of $25 per car for a 1–7-day pass. A $45 annual pass for the national park is also available. Please purchase passes or pay the entrance fee at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, Paul H. Douglas Center, West Beach Entrance Station (after April 1st) or at www.recreation.gov/sitepass/indu.
