INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Celebrate the outdoors at the Outdoor Adventure Festival. The festival starts on Friday, September 8 and continues through Sunday, September 17. More than 100 events will take place over the festival at parks and preserves throughout Northwest Indiana. The events include hiking, paddling, biking, yoga, photography, birding, and more. There will be events for visitors of all ages and activity levels. For the list of programs, times, and locations visit www.dunesoutdoorfestival.com.
Leon’s Obstacle Course Race will take place on September 9 and 10 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at West Beach. Please register at America's Race - Leon's Triathlon (leonstriathlon.com) for the Service Dog, 5K, or 10K races. Leon’s Heroes American Race Series honors U.S. military, veterans, injured veterans, first responders and law enforcement.
On Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm visit Chellberg Farm, for the family friendly Duneland Fall Festival. There will be food venders, musical groups, and live entertainment. Demonstration booths showcasing skills that farmers would have used in the early 1900s and modern-day sustainable practices. Wagon rides will be available for a suggested donation to the Friends of Indiana Dunes to help maintain the farm.

Indiana Dunes National Park has an entrance fee of $25 per car for a 1–7-day pass. A $45 annual pass for the national park is also available. Please purchase passes or pay the entrance fee at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, Paul H. Douglas Center, West Beach Entrance Station (after April 1st) or at www.recreation.gov/sitepass/indu. Veterans/Military/Gold Star Family, Access, and 4th Grade passes are available for free. For more information on national park passes go to www.nps.gov/indu.
