Dock Creek

Dock Creek in the Spring.
Dock Creek in the Spring.
William Penn sailed a skiff up dock creek after unloading from a larger ship on the Delaware when he first came to Philadelphia in the late 17th century. Once the site of a fairly large creek, Dock Creek was covered over in the 1790's. The area is just behind historic Carpenter's Hall, meeting place of the First Continental Congress (1774). In the early spring and fall, flowers bloom throughout the Dock Creek area.
