Reports & Publications

The results of our inventory and monitoring work are available in reports, data sets, briefs, and websites. The NPS Data Store (part of the IRMA Portal), is the main repository for I&M products. You can also visit an I&M network website to see information specific to a network and its parks.

Natural Resource Publication Series

In 2009, the I&M Division began the NPS Natural Resource Publication Series. Every year, 300 to 500 reports, spanning a range of natural resource topics, are published in either the Natural Resource Report series or the Natural Resource Data Series.

Journal Publications

I&M scientists also regularly publish the results of their work in professional journals. A list of peer-reviewed publications authored or co-authored by I&M staff (compiled in 2016) provides a glimpse into the range and depth of their research.

In 2016, the journal Ecosphere produced a special feature: Science for Our National Parks' Second Century, highlighting contributions from the Inventory and Monitoring Division. Articles are available from the Ecosphere Special Feature web page, or from the NPS Data Store links provided below.
