Truman Home Closed for Tours on Mondays (only) November 5 to Memorial DayDate Posted: 10/31/2018 The Truman Home will be closed on Mondays from November 5 to Memorial Day so the park's Curatorial team can clean and work on special projects. Tours will be offered Tuesdays through Sundays as normal. The Visitor Center will be open on these Mondays.
Tickets to the Truman Home are First Come First ServedDate Posted: 2/13/2018 Tours of the Truman Home are first come first served, and must be acquired at the park's visitor center at 223 North Main Street, Independence, MO. On busy days tickets can sell out quickly...only 8 persons are allowed per tour to protect the Truman Home.
The Truman Home and the Truman Library are Separate EntitiesDate Posted: 6/8/2018 The Truman Home is managed by the National Park Service. The wonderful Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum is managed by the National Archives. We strongly hope you visit us both! National Park passes are accepted only for the Truman Home.
Only Bona fide education groups can make advance reservationsOther than bona fide educational groups (limited to 24), advance reservations are not accepted. Tickets are first come first served. Please see page 22 of the park's Superintendent's Compendium in the link.
