Thanksgiving Weekend Events
On Friday, November 25 the Homestead Heritage and Education Centers will open at 8:30 a.m. Special programs over the Thanksgiving Weekend include Junior Ranger activities including guided ranger walks at 2 p.m. November 25-27. Be one of the first to complete the new “Not So Junior Ranger” activity book for adults and earn a special pin. There is also a brand new Junior Ranger activity book. Earn the Centennial badge before the end of the year.

Hours Changing at Homestead National Monument of America
Fall, winter, and spring operating hours will begin at Homestead National Monument of America, starting on Tuesday September 6, 2016, the monument will be open daily Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Along with the changing winter hours, the monument will offer a wide variety of upcoming daily programs.

Prepare for Totality at Homestead National Monument of America
Homestead National Monument of America will be the perfect venue for the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse. At Homestead totality is expected to last 2 minutes 37 seconds. To learn more about the 2017 solar eclipse, Homestead National Monument of America will be hosting a special presentation by solar eclipse expert and enthusiast Derryl Barr. The program will take place at the Homestead Education Center on August 25, 2016 starting at 1 p.m.

Beatrice, NE (December 29, 2015) – Homestead National Monument of America is one of 186 federal sites selected to receive a 2015 field trip grant from the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks.

Honoring 100 Years of the National Park Service-Textile Style
Beatrice, NE – Homestead National Monument of America will be displaying 13 art quilts, created to celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service, during December, 2015 at the Homestead Education Center.
