Join in the Family Fun for Homestead Days At Homestead National Monument of America

Join in the fun June 19-21 at Homestead Days 2015 at Homestead National Monument of America. See performances and demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts, antique farming equipment, and even sheep herding! For details and the full schedule of Homestead Days events, visit nps.gov/home.

Hear concerts by Kusi Taki, the String Beans, Homestead Harmonizers, Paddywhack, the Ponies, and Brad Husak Polka Band. The lineup also features the Wilber Senior Czech Dancers and a "Century of Fashion Show" from Yesterday's Lady. Performances will take place at2 p.m.on Friday and12-5 p.m.Saturday and Sunday.

Bring the kids to the Children's Festival with old time games, prizes, and music, Saturday and Sunday from12-4 p.m.at the Heritage Center. It's all fun and games!

Craft demonstrators will share their skills each day from10 a.m. to 5 p.m.These activities were a necessity of life for the homesteaders, but today we consider them arts and crafts. See demonstrations such as bucket-making, dutch oven cooking, wood carving, blacksmithing, and rope making. Watch and learn quilting, knitting, tatting, sewing, and wool spinning. See antique farming equipment in action on the prairie. Most of these demonstrations will take place at the Education Center, but activities will be offered throughout the park.
