On Veterans Day, November 11, 2007, U.S. veterans, members of the U.S. armed forces, and their families will be admitted free-of-charge to Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. Entrance fees to other national park areas and public lands managed by the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture are waived each Veterans Day. This annual fee-free day is in addition to National Public Lands Day, another fee-free day held each year in September. The Veterans Day waiver always applies on November 11, regardless of the day of the week. “We’re pleased to be able to honor our veterans, servicemen and servicewomen, and their families with free admission to the site on Veterans Day,” said National Historic Site superintendent Cheryl A. Schreier. Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum are in West Branch, Iowa at exit 254 of I-80. Both are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. Parking is limited so please allow extra time to find a parking space. |
