Stories

The Underground Railroad defined Harriet Tubman's life and legacy. While the stories of her life in Auburn, New York, are plenty, the story of her impact reaches far beyond this city. Here, you will find stories of the Underground Railroad, and the network of activists, freedom seekers, and their allies, that fought for an end to American slavery.

These are stories from many different places and of many different people, often unrelated to Harriet Tubman, but all part of the same resistance movement. We invite you to explore these stories and the parks that tell them.
