Planning a Self-Guided Field Trip

Self-guided field trips are an excellent way for teachers and school groups to get out and explore the park while being able to maintain their own schedule. While many teachers understandably request ranger programs for their trips, limited staffing and a high volume of field trip requests mean not every school group can have this experience on their preferred visit date. Hampton NHS has put together some materials to help teachers provide structure to their trip to enhance their students' experience.

Hours of Operation

Hampton National Historic Site's grounds are open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, the Hampton NHS visitor center and exhibit buildings are open Thursdays-Sundays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Apply for a Self-Guided Field Trip

Applying for a self-guided field trip is easy! Simply apply on the park's Field Trip Information Form. Upon arriving to the page, select the "Field Trip: Self-Guided" option and fill out the form from there. A ranger will respond to your inquiry to help plan your trip. Any questions regarding this process can be submitted to the group arrangements coordinator by email.
