The Haleakalā Visitor Center, located at 9741 feet of elevation on the crater rim, will close for door repairs on February 24. Repairs are expected to take 4 weeks. Summit restrooms, trails, sunrise viewing, parking, and other visitor facilities will remain open. Park staff will be available at the summit to answer visitor's questions and provide assistance. Backcountry permits and visitor information will be available at the Headquarters Visitor Center, at 7000 feet of elevation. Headquarters Visitor Center just re-opened after several months of seismic and structural repairs and renovations. The renovations in both visitor centers were funded by entrance fee dollars.
