News Release Date: January 7, 2017 In 2008, the NPS acquired the Nu‘u parcel, one of Maui’s largest undeveloped tracts of land on the leeward slope of Haleakalā. The park, in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Federation, is working to protect and restore 2,115 acres of habitat for native species in Nu‘u.
