Haleakala National Park continues with precautionary measures as Tropical Depression Felicia passes over. While the park remains open there are certain facilities and areas that are closed to access. The following areas are closed for use and access: · all beaches and streams · Hosmer Grove Campground · all trails and backcountry These facilities will remain closed for the remainder of the day and will be assessed in the morning to determine if it is safe to allow access. As the storm passes over the park will continue to assess safety and determine if further facilities need to be closed. Park management will post additional advisories at approximately 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm today.
