Star Watching Program at Haleakalā National Park Come and spend time with park staff for kilo hōkū (star watching). Leave the light pollution behind for an evening of stargazing and star lore. When: 7:30-8:30pm, Saturday, Sept. 17 Where: Hosmer Grove (just inside the park); Look for the "starred" traffic cone. Bring: Dress for cold temperatures and bring a red-filtered flashlight and binoculars if you have them. Space is limited; No reservations. The program is free. Park entrance fees apply ($10 per vehicle for a 3-day pass or $25 for an annual pass). Please use the automated fee machine near the entrance station. Call (808) 572-4400 for more information. |
