McLean, Va. – The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking public input on initial concepts for the future use and enjoyment of the Claude Moore farm area of Turkey Run Park. Three concepts were developed with input from the first public comment period conducted in spring 2019, when the public was invited to share their vision for the park’s future. The NPS invites the public to share comments on these concepts at an upcoming open house, online or by mail.
“We appreciate those who submitted comments online or participated in the April 25 public meeting,” Superintendent Charles Cuvelier said. “We’ve invested considerable attention to ensure that the concepts for Claude Moore farm area of Turkey Run Park reflect the comments we received.”
On Sept. 26, 2019, the NPS will launch a second 30-day public comment period to provide the public with an opportunity to review and provide feedback on these draft concepts.
Attend the open house:
- When: Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m.
6:30 p.m. presentation with questions and answers
- Where: McLean High School, 1633 Davidson Road, McLean, VA 22101
Submit comments online through the park Planning, Environment & Public Comment webpage.
Submit comments by mail for letters postmarked by Oct. 26, 2019:

Following this second public comment period, the NPS will prepare a concept plan that contains a range of refined concepts that could be considered by park management to implement. Actions could require additional environmental and historic preservation compliance prior to implementation. Implementation may occur over time as funds become available.
