Be A Junior Ranger

Gulf Islands Junior Ranger Badge
Children who complete one of the Junior Ranger programs earn an official Junior Ranger badge.

Children, ages 6-11, can complete one of the many Junior Ranger programs to earn their Gulf Islands National Seashore Junior Ranger badge!

To meet the Junior Ranger requirements, children need to complete one of the Junior Ranger handbooks available at park visitor centers, contact stations, and entrance stations. Handbooks can be checked and Junior Ranger badges awarded at the Fort Pickens Discovery Center, Fort Barrancas Visitor Center, and Davis Bayou Visitor Center.

Each handbook and age group has different requirements. The program provides a great opportunity for children to learn about the natural wonders and historic stories and places of the national seashore. It's fun, rewarding, and free!
