Accessibility Resources

Golden Spike National Historic Site is in the process of reviewing and updating our facilities, to better adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. This process will allow us to better serve all the visitors that come to our site. While we are in the process of reviewing and updating our facilities, we ask for your patience and request that you contact us with any questions.

Upon arriving to Golden Spike, please contact our staff at the visitor center information desk if you or anyone in your party requires assistance or any additional consideration to enjoy the site. In order to assist visitors with mobility impairments, Golden Spike does have a wheelchair available in the visitor center. Films in the visitor center include assistive listening devices and captioning.

Exploring the Grade

If you are going to explore the grade on the self guided walking trail and auto tours, please be aware that the grade is an uneven dirt and gravel path that may not be easily passable for all visitors.

Pamphlets in the Western National Parks Association bookstore give written descriptions of the unique features being highlighted by numbered stops along the tour routes. You can also access the descriptions of the designated stops through OnCell's mobile tour stops that are provided along the Big Fill Walking Trail.
