This video simply describes the disruption to the calm and quiet solemnity of the battlefield during the annual Gettysburg bike week. The footage was taken at the Peach Orchard at the intersection of Wheatfield and Emmitsburg Roads. Multiple motorcycles pull up to this intersection or pass by. The overwhelming noise of these motorcycles during this four day event can create a very negative environment for many park visitors. Motorcycle Parade ImpactsHeld on Saturday, July 13, 2024, visitors to Gettysburg National Military Park (NMP) and Eisenhower National Historic Site (NHS) will be impacted by the motorcycle parade that travels on the Emmitsburg Road and Baltimore Street.
