To accommodate the Remembrance Day Parade on Saturday, November 18, Taneytown Road will be closed from 10 am until approximately 3 pm, Gettysburg National Military Park officials have announced. This will affect access to the Soldiers’ National Cemetery parking lot and the park’s tour route.
“We apologize for the inconvenience to park visitors and the Gettysburg community,” said Chuck Hunt, acting superintendent for Gettysburg National Military Park. “The temporary closure is necessary to assist with safety and security of the Remembrance Day Parade.”
Gettysburg National Military Park’s tour route will be temporarily re-routed from the Museum and Visitor Center to Baltimore Pike, southbound, to Route 15, northbound, to the Hanover Road exit. On Hanover Road (Route 116) users of the park tour route will go west along Route 116 through town to Reynold's Avenue where they will turn right and rejoin the regular route.
