The National Park Service seeks to fill multiple surf-lifeguards jobs at all three units of Gateway National Recreation Area for the 2019 summer season. These positions are currently open on USAjobs.gov. The closing date for these jobs is February 15, 2019.Hourly pay for the entry level is 14.59 per hour, with extra pay for Sunday work. Overtime pay is $21.89 per hour. These jobs are 40 hours per week. The first step for this exciting opportunity is a pre-employment performance test which includes a 500 yards swim in less than ten minutes and a 1 ¼ mile run in less than twelve minutes.
The next test will be offered at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 16. Please remember to bring your ID. If you are under 18 at the time of the test, a parent or guardian must be with you.
