The Friends of Charleston National Parks is the primary partner group of Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park.

As the official philanthropic partner of Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park and Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, they inspire appreciation and support for Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, U.S. Coast Guard Historic District at Sullivan’s Island, including Charleston Light, and Charles Pinckney.

Created as a 501c.3 non-profit organization,the Friends group supports the National Park Service’s efforts to preserve, protect and enhance the park for the benefit and education of the public.

Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor

The Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor is a National Heritage Area and it was established by the U.S. Congress to recognize the unique culture of the Gullah Geechee people who have traditionally resided in the coastal areas and the sea islands of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
