You are invited to become a Junior Ornithologist with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and learn all about birds. You will become one of thousands of bird watchers across North America who study birds for science and for fun. Become a bird sleuth and track down the "Most Wanted" birds in New York. Whatever happened to the hundreds of thousands of passenger pigeons that once flew overhead at Fort Stanwix? Explore the effects of acid rain and climate change on birds. You will learn how you can protect the birds found in your backyard and in our National Parks. Celebrate the holidays by making a gift to wildlife, an eco-friendly wildlife feeder. The Backyard Club at Fort Stanwix National Monument creates connections between youth and parks through diverse park programs and inspires kids to get outside and experience their America. The Backyard Club will meet Thursday, December 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fort Stanwix National Monument's Willett Center.
