Lindsay Warren Visitor Center

The visitor center for Fort Raleigh National Historic Site is located at:

1500 Fort Raleigh Road
Manteo, NC 27954

In the visitor center area there is:

  • a paved parking lot,
  • a drop-off area in the in front of the visitor center,
  • restrooms to the left of the visitor center,
  • a visitor center,
  • a shaded, but unpaved picnic area,
  • access to the Waterside Theater, and
  • access to the Hariot Trail, Freedom Trail, and reconstructed earthwork.
 

Audio Description

The exhibits in the visitor center are audio described, and can be accessed by borrowing a device from the information desk. The park film and all other media exhibits within the visitor center are audio described, as are most text elements.

Short audio description is available on the National Park Service app for most exterior points of interest, as is a self-guided audio tour. Most wayside exhibits are not audio described, such as those on the Freedom Trail.

Large print and braille versions of the official Fort Raleigh brochure are available from the information desk at the visitor center.
