Your Safety

Welcome to Fort Point National Historic Site. We hope your visit is enjoyable, enlightening, fun and safe. Here are several things to consider when visiting.

Fort Point is located in a busy, urban environment. The entry road or promenade along the water's edge is a very active area. Enjoy the spectacular views, but be on the lookout for fast-moving bicycles, runners, walkers, dog walkers, baby strollers, skateboards, uneven pavement and pounding waves. Also keep an eye out for the even surfaces throughout Fort Point.

Dial 911 in Emergencies

Call to report accidents, fires, or life-threatening emergencies. Cell phone coverage exists throughout most of Fort Point.

Handrail Safety
Please always use handrails that are provided. Steps can be slippery due to weather conditions and moisture.

Vehicle Safety

Please do not leave visible items in your vehicle, regardless of where you are parking. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please read our Vehicle Burglaries webpage before you visit the park.
