Following guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local public health authorities, Golden Gate National Recreation Area is increasing access to the outdoor areas of Fort Point National Historic Site. Interior portions of buildings at the fort remain closed.

South anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge at the end of Marine Drive on the Presidio of San Francisco.
Fort Point is located at the south anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge at the end of Marine Drive on the Presidio of San Francisco. By car take Highway 101 N or S, exit at the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza at south end of bridge. From S turn right at end of exit ramp, or from N go straight on Merchant Drive. Turn left onto Lincoln Boulevard. Take a left onto Long Avenue and follow onto Marine Drive.
A small bookstore is located inside Fort Point. Restrooms are available outside the Fort. They are located approximately 100 yards away from the fort, down the main road on the right side.

Dogs are allowed on leash on Fort Point lands but are not allowed inside the historic Fort.
