The National Park Service invites the public to celebrate Veterans Day at Fort Necessity National Battlefield. On November 10 and 11, 2023, park staff and volunteers will display a military timeline of service. The timeline ranges from the 18th century to the 20th century. This free program includes a display of camp life, equipment, and weapon demonstrations. The program takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days at the fort on the historic battlefield, rain or shine.“It is exciting for the public to see soldiers from the Revolution, Civil War and World War I in one place,” said Fort Necessity National Battlefield Superintendent Stephen M. Clark. “I’m happy and proud of my staff for offering the program on this important holiday.”
Veterans Day, held each year on November 11, began as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I. In addition to the remembrance, it is also an opportunity to celebrate our veterans.
