Operating Hours & Seasons

The park's historic Star Fort is open daily, 9:00AM - 5:45PM. Fee collection for access to the historic fort has resumed. Visitors are encouraged to purchase the 7-day entrance fee pass online prior to visiting at recreation.gov

The park's grounds and parking lot are open daily for recreational visitors (free). Park gates open at 8:00AM and close at 6:00PM. Visitor Center restrooms are open daily, 9:00AM - 5:45PM. The park gift store is open daily 9:00AM - 5:00PM.

A visitor service tent outside the back of the Visitor Center will be open daily from 9:00AM - 4:30PM. Park maps, brochures, Junior Ranger books, and passport stamps are available at the tent. Rangers and volunteers will be available to answer questions and provide needed assistance.

We are now able to sell some passes in our gift shop. Passes available for purchase are America the Beautiful Annual pass, Fort McHenry Annual Pass, and the 7-day park entry pass. All other passes must still be ordered online at USGS Store. More information can be found on our Fees & Passes page.

Exhibit areas in the Visitor Center will remain closed at this time and no public programs will be held.

People who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces. The wearing of face masks is mandatory within the historic Star Fort. Disposable masks are available from a Ranger upon request.

Park rangers remain on duty and normal regulations still apply. As services are limited and closed to the public, the National Park Service urges visitors to:

• follow one-way directional signs to recreate along the sea wall trail;
• park only in designated areas;
• pack out everything you bring in;
• maintain 6 ft (2 m) social distance from others;
• stay on marked trails;

The National Park Service (NPS) is working servicewide with federal, state, and local public health authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and using a phased approach to increase access on a park-by-park basis.
