ST. AUGUSTINE, FL: Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments are currently accepting applicants for the Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program.

The National Park Service teams up with teachers through a program called "Teacher-Ranger-Teacher" (TRT). It is a professional development opportunity for selected teachers to spend the summer learning and working in our nation's largest classrooms- the national parks. The TRTs will work on a variety of projects, such as creating curriculum materials and participating in summer camp programs. After their summer experience, TRTs bring their knowledge of park resources back to their classrooms and serve as a lifelong bridge between the National Park Service, and their district, school, colleagues, and students.

Each TRT will receive a $3,000 stipend and course credit through a graduate seminar offered by the University of Colorado Denver. We are currently accepting applications for this summer at the Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments. We are not restricting it to a particular grade level or field of study.  Any K-12 teacher can apply. To apply locally, please email casa_education@nps.gov. To learn more about the national program, please visit http://www.nps.gov/casa/learn/education/development/trt.htm
