Fort Frederica National Monument paving starts Monday, May 19

St. Simons Island, GA—Federal Highways Administration will be starting a parking lot resurfacing project at Fort Frederica starting Monday, May 19, weather dependent. The Visitor Center parking lot will be completed on Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20. The Visitor Center lot is located at 6515 Frederica Rd. During work the loop will be closed to large vehicles including busses, trailers, and RVs.  During construction, half of the lot will be completed on Monday and the other half on Tuesday.  Please follow flaggers directions and signage. Bloody Marsh will be closed for work on Wednesday, May 21 with signs posted at the road. 

All lots will open once work is completed. We appreciate your understanding as we improve the parking lots. The park grounds are open 9 am – 5 pm, daily, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
