Fort Frederica National Monument Volunteers (VIPs) In Park Program

Fort Frederica National Monument is a hidden jewel within the National Park System. The compelling history preserved and interpreted at the site paints a picture of the early history of Georgia and the British-Spanish struggle for control of the empire. Incredible resources, both cultural and natural, within the park, help us to study and share this history. Park volunteers not only help us preserve and protect this special place but they also help share its unique story with visitors from around the world. Volunteerism at National Park sites shines a spotlight on the dedicated team of men, women and children who contribute countless hours of their time to promote and support “America’s Best Idea”.

Fort Frederica National Monument needs dedicated volunteers to help the National Park Service accomplish its mission. We preserve the amazing archaeological remains of Fort Frederica. The British town and fort stands as a silent reminder of the region’s past. The duty of the National Park Service is to preserve the site for future generations and provide opportunities for visitors to understand this substantial history. The National Park Service could not accomplish this goal without the time, talent, and energy of a staff of volunteers.
