WASHINGTON— The National Park Service has announced the schedule and lineup for the 2019 Fort Dupont Park Summer Event Series schedule. Presented by the National Park Service, the 2019 Summer Event Series will take place every Saturday evening from July 20th through August 24, 2019 in beautiful Fort Dupont Park.

The 2019 Summer Event Series will take place every Saturday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Fort Dupont Park amphitheatre. Gates open at 6 p.m. People are invited to bring family and friends, lawn chairs, blankets and food. Grills, glass bottles and alcohol are not permitted in the park. Fort Dupont Park’s amphitheater is located at 3600 F Street, SE Washington, DC 20019.

The 2019 summer schedule is:

  • July 20 - A tribute to Motown by Brencore Entertainment and Earth, Wind and Fire Tribute Band

  • July 27 - Classic Hip Hop Night featuring Chubb Rock, Dana Dane and Special Ed

  • August 3- A tribute to DC Music featuring iconic Go-Go group Rare Essence and Obsession

  • August 10- World Music Night featuring award winning performer Wunmi and Jean-Francis Varre

  • August 17- Soulful Summer with multi GRAMMY-nominated R&B artist Raheem DeVaughn

  • August 24 - R&B Night with GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Stokley of legendary R&B group Mint Condition

The free public events are an annual celebration that brings together Washington metropolitan area residents and communities across generations to enjoy incredible music from national, regional and local artists to perform live in the park’s outdoor amphitheater. The National Park Service continues to honor the series’ tradition, bringing together neighbors, families, and organizations together for the culture, for the community, for the connection.

This year visitors will enjoy traveling on new roads throughout Fort Dupont Park. The improvement follows a resurfacing project began in fall 2018 and ended in spring 2019. Take a look at photos highlighting this change for the better at go.nps.gov/fortdrs.
