Coverage Procedures

~Media Credentialing Form Due by August 24 ~

WHAT :    Flight 93 National Memorial September 11th Observance
The days leading up to September 11 will be filled with many ways to honor the story of Flight 93. Events will be spread over four days from Saturday, September 8 through Tuesday, September 11.

The 11th Anniversary Memorial Service will start at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11. This start time was chosen to commemorate the time period during which the passengers and crew took action on the plane to thwart the terrorists. Interpretive programs and tribute events will continue through the afternoon.

WHEN:    Friday, September 7 - Tuesday, September 11, 2012       
    
    11th Anniversary Memorial Service - Tuesday, September 11, 2012
    Media Set-up Begins: 7:00 a.m.
    Ceremony Begins: 9:45 a.m.

    All media must be set-up and in place by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11
(Outlets with live broadcasts the morning of September 11 will have access earlier than 7:00 a.m.; details will follow in future advisories.)

If your media outlet is planning to send staff to cover this event they must be issued an event media credential in order to obtain media access to any of the designated media areas. Please complete the media credentialing form, attached to this advisory, and return by email or fax by August 24, 2012 to:

Additional information regarding media credentialing pick-up and other important media technical details will be sent soon in future technical advisories.

Please note, the media credentials are required during the entire period from September 7-11. A single credential may be valid for all five days, provided your application indicates which dates you will be covering events.
