Reviews and Awards

This CD is a great introduction for children both to the National Park system and different song forms. The choruses are catchy and easy to sing along with. In addition, unlike many childrens' discs, it is not too cutesy or cloying, so adults will like it. If they don't, it's well produced and varied enough that they will not easily get sick of it, unlike 80% of what now masquerades as music for kids.

Offbeat Magazine

"If you have a hankering for nature, or want to get your kids to appreciate the world around them (and not just the mall and skate park), here's a (forgive the pun) natural way to introduce the topic. SONGS FOR JUNIOR RANGERS won't give you poison ivy, won't attract mosquitoes, and just might teach your kids about the great outdoors."

Jeffrey Cohen, MrJeff2000

"Warning: this CD may cause singing, dancing, and learning. For kids and fun-loving is perfect for travel and exploration--both real and imagined. It offers all new music that engages and entertains with clever, witty, and fact-packed verses. ... this CD could be useful in formal and non-formal programming for youth in music appreciation, geography, history, and the sciences"

--Gretchen Bonfert , musician/composer and member of New Orleans Women in Music\

The CD sparked an interest in places and people my kids have never heard of. They needed to know more about Thaddeus Kosciuszko and are hoping to visit some of the songs (parks) on our family trips this summer. It also reminded them of some places we have been and want to go again like the "Four Presidents". If you like music or our National Parks or both this is a great album for the whole family.

"Dear Mr. Jeff,...I just want to say your songs are great. I loved Turtle Up Turtle Down, Junior Park Rangers, and National Fossil Day. You play guitar great and you have a wonderful voice. And the lyrics were so fun."
