Fire Island National Seashore Reopening 08/23/21

News Release Date: August 22, 2021

Fire Island National Seashore will resume operations with limited visitor services on Monday 8/23 after experiencing minimal damage during Tropical Storm Henri.

Designated lifeguarded beach areas will remain closed on Monday 8/23 due to hazardous surf conditions. Swimming is not advised at this time.

Visitor centers and concessions services may have limited hours and services, pending conditions. 

Ferry service to Watch Hill and Sailors Haven will be offered on a rainy day schedule.

Please follow the Davis Park FerrySayville Ferry Service, and Fire Island Ferries company websites for the most up-to-date information regarding ferry service to Fire Island communities.

Park operations and visitor services will return to normal on Tuesday, 8/24.
