KEY WEST, Florida: Park Manager Glenn Simpson invites everyone who loves the Dry Tortugas National Park to participate in the Dry Tortugas Hashtag Photo Contest. This contest was developed in partnership with the Dry Tortugas Yankee Freedom III, the park’s official ferry.
Entering the contest is easy: take a photo (or even choose a past photo) of the beautiful Dry Tortugas, tag #DryTortugas and share on Instagram or Twitter! Every month, 5 photos will be chosen by our panel of judges and displayed at http://www.drytortugas.com/
The contest’s September winner, Mario Cisneros, won for the photo he captured while diving near Fort Jefferson’s moat wall. Cisneros used a GoPro Hero 3+ with a Goscope stick to take his photo inside a cloud of tiny fish underwater. When asked about his plans for his National Park Annual Pass, Cisneros said, “With a free National Park pass, I'm sure I'll be enticed to visit a park on the west coast like Yosemite!” See his winning photo at http://www.drytortugas.com/
At the Dry Tortugas National Park, a variety of remarkable experiences await visitors who venture out to this remote national park, including camping, snorkeling, bird watching, fishing or just enjoying a view from the top of massive Fort Jefferson. You quickly realize how magical this place can be. For transportation to the Dry Tortugas, ferries run to the park from Key West. For ferry schedules, prices and reservations, contact the Yankee Freedom III by phone (305-294-7009) or online atwww.drytortugas.com. |
