Devils Postpile National Monument will open civic engagement on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 for a proposed project that will improve the park's wastewater system. This project will test percolation rates for and install a new leach field, septic tanks, and associated piping for the wastewater system which serve the visitor center and administrative areas of the park.

This proposed project will also replace the comfort stations in the park's campground and day-use area with improved restroom facilities that are accessible. Additionally, this project will add vault toilets to expand capacity during the peak summer season, which will better serve visitors coming to experience Devils Postpile National Monument.

Public participation is an important element of the project planning process and we welcome your comments. Please submit all comments using the following link: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/depo_wastewater.

Public comments will be accepted through April 1, 2021.

All information related to the proposed wastewater project is available at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/depo_wastewater. We welcome your ideas, concerns, issues, and suggestions for consideration.
