The monument's 20 site campground opened on June 12 with a new campground fee structure. The new campground fee structure is based on the proposal which was open for public input from November through December 2014. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, $14 in 2000 is equivalent to $19.35 in 2014. This fee change allows Devils Postpile to maintain consistent revenue while adjusting accordingly for inflation.

The campground fee has increased from $14 per night to $20 per night. Holders of the America the Beautiful Senior and Access (permanent disability) Passes receive a 50% discount.

During the public engagement period, the park received 11 comments: 9 fully supportive and 2 opposed. The limited comments indicated the increase is not a public concern.

The additional revenue from the fee increase will be used to enhance visitor services, including repair and maintenance of park facilities, restoration and rehabilitation of the Devils Postpile Ranger Station and day-use area, additional park programs, and increase resource protection.

In addition to the fee changes, implementation of the General Management Plan (GMP) preferred alternative regarding campground improvements and protection of resources will begin in the 2015 summer season. The GMP was open to public comment during the summer of 2014.

The monument began phased implementation of the GMP decision in the 2015 summer season to improve riverbank condition, access for day users, and improve quality of the camping experience. The B loop is designated as only for walk-ins, tents, and car camping with vehicles that do not exceed a combined vehicle length of 20 feet. This will improve the safety of campers and drivers by reducing the driving hazards posed by the narrow dirt road. Generators are not permitted in the B loop at any time.

The A loop is designated for walk-ins, tents, car camping, and small to mid-size recreational vehicles. In A Loop, only 6 sites can safely accommodate a recreational vehicle of a combined length of 30 feet. These spaces are available on a first come basis. The accessible campsite can accommodate a combined length of 37 feet, and those with accessible needs have priority for this site. After sunset, other campers may occupy the site for one night only.

Campsite availability will be updated at Minaret Vista Station. Check out time is noon on the day the permit expires.
