Spring Road Opening went very quickly this year due to a lack of snow and much less drifting. The crews reached the Pretty Rocks landslide (Mile 45.4) in just ten days. They are currently working their way back towards Mountain Vista and opening campgrounds and clearing some minor drifting along the way.
But this likely isn't the end! We are still expecting and preparing for more snow to come.
Please remember that you may encounter equipment working along the road. Be sure to make eye contact with operators before proceeding around them.
