SRO Update for March 28, 2016

Snow plowing in Igloo Forest, approximately Mile 34

Current Plow Crew Work Locations: Crews made it to Igloo cabin (Mile 34) on Friday. That's as far as we've made it so far due to the snow that feel Saturday and Sunday. Now that we've cleaned up from the highway to mile 34, we will continue to head west.

Steam Crew Locations: Sanctuary flats, Upper Hogan, and mile 4

Snow Depths: 4 to 6 inches of new snow fell over the weekend out west. Deepest snow encountered in Igloo forest was 3 feet.

Aufeis Depths: Upper Hogan drainage was full. Nothing over the road

Road Open to: Mountain Vista, Mile 14

Equipment Status: All is well. Thanks auto shop.

Road Crew Staff On-Duty Today: Paul Franke, Martin Weiner, Bob James, Stacey Skrivanek,

Current Weather Forecast. Chance of rain today.

Current Weather at HQ: Overcast and 28 above

Wildlife Sightings: 8 moose spotted. Location was not recorded

Notes/Observations/Comments: With the warm forecast we expect to see a diminishing snow pack and increased ice creation. Possible snow and or rain in the forecast.
