Another year of spring road opening is underway! As of March 22, 2023, the road opening crews have reached Mile 27. The snow levels this year are lower in comparison to other years, with 18 inches on the Tek Flats. There are snow drifts in the usual places, but still considerably less than expected at 6 to 8 feet in depth.
Please remember to watch for snow removal equipment running up and down the road while you are out hiking and skiing along the park road. Make eye contact with any equipment operators you encounter before approaching within 100 feet of equipment.
