Spring Road Opening (SRO) 2019 to Start Soon
On Sunday, March 17, road crews will head west from Mountain Vista (Mile 13) to remove snow and ice from the road.
As always, please stay clear of all snow removal equipment should you encounter any while hiking or skiing beyond the Denali Park Road gate near Mountain Vista. Visitors and staff may park at Mountain Vista during SRO, although as always, the park road may temporarily close at Headquarters (Mile 3) during periods of bad weather (e.g., heavy snow or freezing rain), if any arise.
We will keep everybody updated as to our progress. All indications are it should be a fairly normal SRO with no big surprises.
