After a long slow process of re-plowing after the last snow storm, the road crews have been able to plow to Toklat to allow West B&U to start opening Toklat road camp. This has allowed the contractor to get started on the repair work at Pretty Rocks slump. The contractor started hauling material from the pit at Toklat on the 23rd of April. Barring any unforeseen events the contractor should make good progress over the next few weeks.

Meanwhile the road crews are heading West from Toklat to continue opening the road, As of Thursday evening (24th) the crew has progressed to 57 mile. Snow depths are from 3 to 4 feet with drifts as much as 12 feet in places, The snow is heavy and wet, It will be a long slow battle over highway pass and stony hill.
