Ranger Reports
NPS 14K Patrol #7 - (Beren) The whole team flew off the mountain on Wednesday, July 3, just in time to attend Talkeetna's Main Street 4th of July Parade.
NPS Muldrow Patrol #8 - (McBrayer) Joey, Jen, Michael, Yoshiko, and Kakiko have been busy tidying up camp, packing up gear, and collapsing tents. Meanwhile, they have also assisted a climber with with a twisted knee. Today, pilot Andy and ranger Dave flew to 14K to evacuate the patient to Talkeetna. Then Andy will return to the 14K to commence slinging net loads down to basecamp. They will remain there until the US Army Blackhawks assist with camp flyout sometime in the next couple weeks.
Yikes -- late afternoon 7/5 amendment: Temps proved too warm at 14 camp to fly loads down this afternoon, above 40 F!! So that effort was postponed until tomorrow morning.
Its starting to get very lonely up there!

VIP patrol member Yoshiko Miyazaki-Back collapses in a sugar coma today at 14K camp after pilot Andy delivers a morale-boosting box of donuts and tub of ice cream. After Yoshiko was revived, rangers and fellow volunteers de-briefed the incident and discussed the health benefits of moderation. (NPS Photo / Joey McBrayer)
