Ranger Update

NPS Denali Patrol #1 (Erickson, Coady, 2 GRTE rangers, 2 VIPs)  The patrol are daytripping to the 17,200-foot camp today.

NPS Denali Patrol #2 (McBrayer and 4 VIPs). Ranger Joey McBrayer and his four VIP's are still camped at 11,200 feet

NPS Basecamp Patrol #1 (Reichert, 2 rangers, 1 VIP)  LE ranger Adam Mehlhorn flew into basecamp   yesterday evening, swapping out for Erika Jostad and Nick Beheler.

Route Conditions

Julie Gottleib reported a 'post-hole party' at basecamp last night, as snow was getting softer under bright sun and above-freezing temperatures.  This morning, however, conditions were hard and icy with firm snow for good travel.

NPS Patrol #1 encountered strong winds up high the last few days, with more blue ice revealed at higher elevations. They did some work replacing sections of the fixed lines below the bergshrund, with some more maintenance to do today.  Returning teams report that all the pickets and wands are still in place from last season on the Autobahn.
